Michael Jackson is back1! No, not from the grave kind but some judge over in US have already given the green light for a movie release, about the comeback show that never was. Mark your calendars hombre and that is October 28th, 2009. Now I’ll be eagerly anticipating this one.
So I’m already into a few days of my Reservist tour of duty and work has been calling me up incessantly. It’s a little annoying when you’ve just returned home from duty at 5pm, trying to catch 40 winks and work’s calling you 5, 6, maybe 7 times and spoils the nap, and you’ve barely even began dreaming, let alone even ‘feel’ that power nap take place but forced to stay up with a headache instead.
It’s even more annoying when you reach office at 8pm only for your colleague to manage to overcome the initial problem which was supposedly un-overcome-able and required your immediate presence! That’s it lah, this frust-mostat inside me is almost reaching critical point, and with that I suppose that this is the post where if my life takes an unexpected turn of events (for the better presumably), it will somehow remind me of that derilious decision I was forced to make?
*calms down* (… and for the records, I calm down and pacify easily. Perhaps too easy??? )
Thankfully, Mustafa Ctr was nearby and I managed to divert my frustrations into shopping for the cheapest pair of socks, boxers/briefs and singlets in preparation for my in-camp training. Almost bought a jersey but thankfully I resisted the urge, amidst all the ‘excitable’ looking items on display.
Oh, have you been to Mustafa Ctr? At first I thought that it was just a glorified mamak provision shop, but after a few visits there I am convinced that it’s not just a glorified mamak provision shop, but a gigantic, humoungous, everything-you-can-find glorified kind of a mamak shop! There’s so many things that even items that costs $79 or even more get strewn all around the shelves as if they’re $7.90 insstead — and somehow, there’s this comforting ambience that goes within these shelves, like it’s such a friendly or down-to-earth super-department store or should I say, the godzilla of mamak shop?
Heh, I coined that term after most mamak food stalls sells their drinks after legendary creatures.
Come to think of it, why do they even use legendary creatures like dinosaurs and godzilla? Why can’t they just use a term like ‘upsize’ or ‘upgrade’?
Anyway, about the Michael Jackson movie.. I have a tingling sensation that it’s gonna be the godzilla of all movies. I can’t help but wonder what with all the posthumous attention that the late artist has received, will this be another record breaking event?
You know, it’s gotta be, because… this is it1!
By the way, this has to be the longest post title I’ve ever had. Wow.

It was dinner at Far East Plaza on Thursday night after a quick exchange of sms from Bangau and Fran. I was at Sim Lim, prowling for a good pair of earbuds — after the left earbud of my current sony model failed me this morning. It’s not really nice putting on just 1 earbud while your ipod is on full blast.

And Bangau took on the pleasure of testing out the new earbuds while waiting for nasi goreng seafood. Here he is in his trance, as usual. You couldn’t see it from here but he’s finding Gandalf as an idol at the moment (hint hint: white hair!!!).

Talk about hair, is this dude planning to be the next Pet Detective? I’m sure Jim Carrey’s retired that role but perhaps a comeback?

And this guy… not enough hair lah! But enough said.. Hehe…

And every group needs a mascott rite? Here’s the macho man, the babyface, the effervescent (did I spell correctly???) and .. wait, nice tee he got going there! Must be from mttbwy.com lah. *nudge-nudge*
Oh well, it was a short evening but the food was surprisingly good! I think I just turned into a cahaya fan with my plate of mee goreng seafood.

Wow. Nice right. I mean the camera angles. Must be taken by guys who are used to taking food photography.
Ok ok ok, so that’s the mee goreng I got. Oily, yellowy, but super scrumptious meal it was. See that char kway / wanton in the background? Half of it was free! Don’t know why but the uncle offered them to us , even after we declined his initial invitations. Nice uncle indeed.
Head down to Cahaya, Far East Plaza, at level 5 if you want to meet these 4 dudes try out the delicious mee goreng, the crispy wan ton or simply to test your luck with the generous uncle.
Good meal, good times.

I don’t think I’ve blogged about football ever since the EPL ended about a month back, and I’ve kept my opinions on Rafa’s transfer policy in reserve more so of ignorance than contempt.
I’m an admirer of Rafa’s wheelings and dealings, so I don’t judge his decisions hastily, like how I do not despise his 30M sale of Alonso to Real Madrid.
At first glance it will look like a step backwards from the Rafalution, Alonso being a key player and integral passer and creative force of Liverpool’s midfield, who occasionally chip in with the vital goals. So why sell Rafa?
30Million. That’s why. Sell now than later, would be Rafa’s mindset, whom only see Alonso as a first 11 player, instead of a keyindispensible player. It’s sad to see Alonso leave, but with his family in mind, his wish to return to Spain with them shouldn’t be compromised, and you wouldn’t want to keep a player whose heart isn’t at a club — and you could really read it in his face compared with Gerrard’s or Mascherano’s.
Oh well, thank you and goodbye Alonso. We’ll miss your ‘half-court’ snapshots and the 40yards diagonal cross-field balls.
And then, Hello Alberto Aquilani! You’ve got big shoes to fill in now. Good luck~

I read this somewhere on some blog which I can’t recall last nite, but I managed to copy the joke onto a local text file, in case I needed to read it again the next day, like today. Check it out:
A man in a hot air balloon realised he was lost. He reduced altitude and spotted a woman below. He descended a bit more and shouted, ‘Excuse me,can you help me? I promised a friend I would meet him an hour ago but I don’t know where I am.’
The woman below replied, ‘You’re in a hot air balloon hovering approximately 30 feet above the ground. You’re between 40 and 41 degrees north latitude and between 59 and 60 degrees west longitude.”
You must be in Information Technology,’ said the balloonist.
’I am,’ replied the woman, ‘how did you know?’
”Well,’ answered the balloonist, ‘everything you told me is probably technically correct, but I’ve no idea what to make of your information and the fact is, I’m still lost. Frankly, you’ve not been much help at all. If anything, you’ve delayed my trip.’
The woman below responded, ‘You must be in Management.”
‘I am,’ replied the balloonist, ‘but how did you know?”
Well,’ said the woman, ‘you don’t know where you are or where you’re going. You have risen to where you are, due to a large quantity of hotair. You made a promise, which you’ve no idea how to keep, and you expect people beneath you to solve your problems. The fact is you are in exactly the same position you were in before we met, but now, somehow, it’s my f***ing fault.’
Wahahahahaha.. Now that is funny.

… don’t even ask. Just because…

There’s no subtler way to say this, but I am surrounded by people who complain about almost everything (which pisses irritates me off BUT I do try to help them or at least attempt to make their life better a little, by offering an assistance.
Nevertheless there are a few of whom I know are proactive and take actions promptly, instead of bad mouthing/complaining, and these are the sort of people that I enjoy being with — because they don’t make problems for you.
And for those who aren’t in the latter category of people…
READ THIS about how to stop letting things in life piss you off and BECOME A BETTER PERSON.
I happened to read that article and couldn’t agree any more on how apt it is in life, or how apt it is in improving life, AND if you intend to improve your life (or a friend’s) then read it or pass it on.
Eg. I’m sure YOU’VE heard or know of how some people go on and on complaining about how the parking attendant booked them for parking offences? — Well if they’d not commit the offence, they wouldn’t be booked eh? IMHO, if you’re taking a risk (like parking without putting coupons) and it doesn’t pay off (or in this case you’re made to pay heftily) then take it like a man (or a girl, or lady, or grandfather, or whoever you may be.)! The story seems stupidly silly and makes the complainant more of a cry baby or SOMEONE WHO ISN”T IN CONTROL OF THE SITUATION eh?
So get in control today!
Btw, the first 5 people to read the link above will be bestowed with good luck for the rest of their dating lives. If, they’re dating. Heh. AND if you don’t read it or share the link, bad luck will befall you, like your monitor will start to flicker uncontrollably and then it’ll just die and the CDs on your shelves will rot and smell real bad!!! You’ve been warned!1

1Haha, just felt like typing that last paragraph, cos it’s been a looong while since anyone’s ever sent me those silly and utterly ridiculus emails /sms-es like these — total BS stuffs la. Good old stuffs.. Wooo~

Suddenly I have this urge to go on a movie-thon, and not just any movie-thon but a 2 or 3 movies on the trot kind of thing.
I’d have to cross out visiting cinemas cos there aren’t that much good shows going around here, but perhaps i might take a dig at my dusty collection of dvds and vcds. Plus cinemas are darn expensive these days!
So Titanic would be my first choice, greatly aided by an airplay of the popular soundtrack from Celine Dion which I heard at work this morning, and almost immediately I recalled of how I watched it lying down on the cinema floor at the front row seats. Back then I was with a group of friends from a leadership camp, and we were on an outing to regroup for a while when the camp ended.
Ahhh, those were the days when free time were aplenty.
Aaaaaaaaand if I decide to not get dewy eyed or feeling forlorn in love, then perhaps I might continue on my rampage of One Piece episodes. Oh yes, I’m a heeeeeeee-uge fan of One Piece, or come to think of it, I’m a BIG fan of anything that’s animation/cartoon!
Naruto, Inuyusha, Full Metal Alchemist, Samurai 7, Here n There Now n Then, Princess Mononoke, Howl’s Moving Castle, Nemo… and the list could go on but I’m too sleepy to think of anymore shows la!
AAAAAAAND though right now I feel like sharing the joy of watching Ice Age 3 with someone, or for that matter, anyone who’d enjoy a good laugh — cos it’s a hilarious animation indeed, and in fact I dare say that’s its the funniest installment of the franchise, thus far — I guess I gotta succumb to my exhausted body.
Hmmm, maybe I’ll dream of a movie? Then I hope that it better be a good movie. Bah~

Whahaha! Whatever they come up with next eh?
Browsing through my emails/spam/adverts I came across this intersting link about ‘green’ smoke!

This thingy is actually a ciggarette that’s healthier! Wait a minute, since when is smoking even healthy? I quote from their webby:
“Green Smoke is a revolutionary new nicotine delivery system that provides a healthier alternative to traditional cigarette smoking. With traditional cigarettes, the smoker is forced to inhale thousands of unwanted chemicals and carcinogens along with the nicotine. With Green Smoke, this is a thing of the past!”
It’s supposed to not only save your lifespan by that much, but it saves your money too! Whahahaha — as if~ Think what? Electricity use freely arh?
Now I don’t know how it looks like during its application but I hope noone gets elecrocuted or anything like that while trying to smoke healthily.
Hmm, definitely felt a little weird in saying that previous statement, BUT if there’s any smokers who wants to, ahem, stay a little healthier then by all means please find out more about the green smoke!
(Pssst, that Green Smoke link is a referrel link so hope ya don’t mind ya! *winks*)

I was almost certain that this song, Give Thanks To Allah, was sung by the late Michael Jackson, as rumoured by many, but that would only take away the proper credits from Zain Bhikha, although its extremely difficult to tell yourself that it wasn’t M upon your first hearing.
Anyway, Zain Bhikha has some really good tunes going on, thanks to my extensive foray in youtube’s ‘related links’, and since Hari Raya is inching nearer, finally some refreshing tunes to play on air when the relatives come visiting.
Give thanks to Allah, and may the peace be with you.

Do you check the mirror often?
My colleague, who sits in front of me, has a mini mirror sitting on her front desk, by the keyboards, and I can only guess how often she checks herself, but do you go to that extreme?
I mention extreme because the only time I’d give the mirror a proper check is when I’m shaving in the morning — and it’s only because I’ve found out for myself how dangerous it can be to shave without looking into a mirror — and that’s it. I’m a simple guy. Heh.
But today I had to take a good look at myself in the mirror again, because Karen said I looked 23! Good joke la ‘cos looking at a crazily grinning Mar in the toilet couldn’t quite convince me that it’s only been 23 years, but more of like a 32year old, who is grinning uncontrollably, like someone who’s had too many to drink and is beginning to think that he has just won a lottery!
Even my colleagues and customers at work can’t guess my age and often cite it to be a few years younger! *tripping* Maybe it’s the squeaky (yet, ahem, manly) voice that hides the years away??? Bah~ I don’t even think I look any younger than I am.
For the records, I don’t even feel young anymore and even the body begins to ache in places where years back it would recover almost instantly for example, after a soccer game, and especially after last Sunday’s Fico 5-a-side tournament with the Dragonscage boys. (Wooo~ We could’ve won the tournament if not for poor refereeing decisions. Btw, why does a losing team always blame the referees? Poor, pun intended, referees la~)
Anyway I’m quite good at guessing a person’s age so I guess others are just bad at guessing mine eh?
So tell me, what’s my age again?
